It is a family-friendly musical based on the 2001 DreamWorks film, with a book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire and music by Jeanine Tesori. The story follows Shrek, Donkey, and Princess Fiona through a comic fairy-tale adventure, brought to life with original songs, elaborate costumes, dance numbers, and theatrical effects.

Is Shrek The Musical suitable for children?
The musical is a popular family outing and is generally suitable for all ages, with particular appeal for children ages 4 and up. What are the best seats at Presidio Theatre for Shrek The Musical?
For a balanced view of the scenery, choreography, and large-scale stage effects, look for centered seats in the front or middle sections, subject to the theater's seating map for your performance. If seeing costume and puppet details up close is a priority, consider nearer seats; a few rows farther back can make it easier to take in the full stage picture.
Are any seats less suitable for this production?
Seats at the far sides or very close to the stage may offer a more limited view of some scenes, depending on the performance's staging and the theater's seating layout. Review the available seat map before choosing, and avoid relying on a seat location description that is not shown for your specific performance.
What should I know about parking near Presidio Theatre?
Parking availability in the Presidio can vary by event and time of day. Allow extra time to find a space, follow posted signs, and check current Presidio parking information before leaving. A useful local tip is to plan your parking location in advance rather than assuming the closest spaces will be available at showtime.
Can I take public transportation to Presidio Theatre?
San Francisco Muni buses serve areas of the Presidio, though the most convenient route depends on your starting point and the performance time. Check current Muni schedules and service notices before traveling, and leave time for the walk from your stop to the theater.
What is the bag policy at Presidio Theatre?
Bag rules can depend on the venue's current event procedures. Before attending, check the latest Presidio Theatre guidance and plan to bring only essential items. Security checks or restrictions on oversized bags may affect entry time.

Shrek The Musical San Jose Theatre reviews
Now i’m haunted
"I cried the whole way home in my dress. I was too young to be put through this experience. Would rate it -13 stars if I could. This was horrible. To be put through Shrek The Musical’s dark, twisted game. To be messed with like this. I regret this all the time. I wish you’d left me wondering what this event was like. Dear Shrek The Musical, give me back my innocence and girlhood. It was mine first. The wound from this won’t close. When I told people I got tickets to this, they said “run as fast as you can away from that event”. I miss who I used to be before I went through this haunting experience. I cant let this go. I should not have ignored them. I should’ve known. Dont recommend at all."
